  • Originally the intent of the organizers was to run an AKC sanctioned Spaniel Hunt Test on Sat April 28th & Sun April 29th.
    • AKC regulations require the use of recognized game birds (Pheasant, Chukar Partridge, etc) at the upper levels of a Spaniel Hunt Test. Due to the unusually mild winter in the midwest, organizers were unable to secure a commitment from local suppliers to guaruntee enough birds to hold the event.
    • Subsequently, the decision has been made to cancel the AKC sanctioned hunt test, and replace it with a club organized WD/WDX event.
    • WD/WDX events are not subject to the same requirements as AKC tests. This means that Pigeons can be used at all levels of testing. Pigeons can be sourced at this time in enough quantity to run a Welsh Springer/Field Spaniel specific event.

 

  • The details of the replacement event are as follows:
    • WD/WDX event for Welsh Springer & Field Spaniel participants only.

    • WD/WDX Working Certificate Entry/Judges Form: (One form per dog)

      • The event is now specific to Welsh Springer & Field Spaniels only. However, due to time & resource concerns a total entry limit of 30 dogs has been set.
